1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Connection Companion ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Connection Companion regarding your use of the Service.

2. Description of Service

Connection Companion is a service that uses AI to help users analyze conversations, understand relationship dynamics, and improve communication skills. The Service includes:

• Conversation analysis and insights
• Relationship pattern detection
• Communication coaching and suggestions
• Social context understanding
• Secure, encrypted data storage

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Upload content that violates any law or infringes on others' rights
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our consent
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated systems or bots to access the Service without permission

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited license to process, analyze, and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

5.2 Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to upload and share the content
• The content does not violate any third party's rights
• You have obtained necessary consent from other parties in shared conversations

5.3 Privacy of Others

When uploading conversations involving other people, you should respect their privacy and ensure you have appropriate consent or legal basis to share that content.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to analyze conversations and generate insights. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated insights are provided for informational purposes only
• AI analysis may not always be accurate or appropriate for your situation
• You should not rely solely on AI insights for important decisions
• AI suggestions are not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, psychological, etc.)

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Connection Companion and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our written consent.

8. Payment and Subscriptions

Some features of the Service may require payment. If you purchase a subscription:

• You agree to pay all applicable fees
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• Refunds are provided in accordance with our refund policy
• We may change prices with reasonable notice

9. SMS Messaging Terms

Connection Companion offers optional SMS messaging features, including match reminders, scheduling notifications, and the ability to interact with our AI assistant via text message. By opting in to SMS communications you agree to the following:

9.1 Consent

By verifying your phone number and connecting it to your Connection Companion account, you consent to receive automated SMS messages from us. These messages may include match reminders, squad notifications, scheduling updates, and conversational replies from our AI assistant. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

9.2 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity. You may receive messages when matches are scheduled, squads are formed, plans change, or when you initiate a conversation with our AI assistant via text. You will not receive more than 25 messages per day under normal usage.

9.3 Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Connection Companion does not charge any additional fees for SMS messaging.

9.4 Opting Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out you will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. You may opt back in at any time by replying START or by re-verifying your phone number in Settings.

9.6 Supported Carriers

SMS messaging is available on most major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CONNECTION COMPANION SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
• Any damages arising from AI-generated content or recommendations

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Connection Companion and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for any reason, including:

• Violation of these Terms
• Conduct that harms us or other users
• Extended period of inactivity
• Request by law enforcement or government agencies

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in San Francisco County, California.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
